Police are appealing for information following the theft of more than £35,000 of plant machinery from two sites in the Ilkley area.
A three-ton Volvo excavator worth £12,000 and a Volvo mini-digger worth £25,000, were taken in the raids from premises in Burley Woodhead and Burley in Wharfedale over the Bank Holiday weekend.
The yellow and grey mini-digger is an EC25 (like the one pictured) and can be identified by the Vehicle Identification Number of VCEC2500J08122754. It was stolen by thieves who broke into a building site, while the excavator is believed to have been taken overnight on Friday, May 3.
Detective Inspector Richard Partis of Airedale and North Bradford CID, said: “These machines are particularly heavy and the thieves would have needed a vehicle to remove them from their sites.”
