Unique prototype produced and supplied by a specialist racing manufacturer in Wigan and is worth £1,500. It has a black carbon fibre frame with ‘Champion System’ and ‘Maxgear.co.uk’ in fluorescent green writing across the frame. The tyre walls are also fluorescent green.
It features dropped handlebars with white tape and the saddle is black with ‘Specialized 135’ along the side in white lettering. It is an 18-speed bike with ‘Tiagra’ gear shift levers.
It has an unusual chain set, the large front gear cog has 46 teeth and the rear cogs have between 14 and 25 teeth. The crank set has ‘Sora’ written on it in silver/grey lettering.
The bike was stolen during the Lichfield cycle race.
The thief was described as:
“white, aged around 45, 5 ft 6 inches tall, of large build with short hair. He was wearing white cycling shorts, a lime green cycling top and a white cycle helmet.”
