It is believed the bronze statue – called ‘Dancer Stretching’ – was taken between Wednesday, 21 December and Saturday, 24 December when the glass cabinet it was kept in was broken into, in an art gallery.
The statue is by Tom Greenshields and is a limited edition piece of art valued at over £5000.
“The one stolen is number 32 out of the 50 made and is engraved as such. It measures 13.5 inches tall by 8.5 inches wide.
Clearly, it is in an unusual item and we appeal to anyone who has been offered it, or has seen it advertised for sale anywhere, to get in touch with the police
