Stolen Jewellery – Is This Yours?
Police have recovered a haul of jewellery, medals and cutlery from the mid-Bedfordshire area which is suspected to be stolen.
The items were found during the arrest of a man in Clifton in connection with handling stolen goods. Some items have already been traced back to burglaries in the Sandy and Biggleswade area, but detectives believe the haul may contain items from other burglaries in other areas, or possibly from neighbouring Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire.
The collection includes some costume jewellery, but also some items which are quite valuable, such as an Asian gold style bracelet in a presentation box and an Indian-style ring with four white stones.
Other items include a pocket watch, ladies’ watches, various chains, pendants, brooches and rings and silver plated cutlery, coins and medals, and a very unusual blue compact set.
Det Con Kevin Howes said: “A number of these items are very recognisable and we would love to reunite them with their rightful owners. No doubt there are some things which have been sadly missed and are of great sentimental value to their owners.
“If you have been victim of a burglary in which something like this was taken, between about September 2012 and January 2013, please take a look at the pictures on our website and if you can recognise anything give the burglary team a call.”
To make a claim, you’ll need proof of ownership or a relevant crime recording number. Call the team direct on 01234 275356 or alternatively contact independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111. View the full collection at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/bedfordshirepolice/sets/72157634229909546/
