The two cycles were taken after thieves broke into a detached garage at a property in Towton, between 8pm on Tuesday 18 October 2011 and 9am the following day.

One of the bikes is a bespoke hand-made road racing bike valued at £6,000, the other is a high-spec mountain bike valued at £2,500.

The road bike is a Gios Carbon Ultra, finished in Gios blue with a black bare carbon swinging arm. It is a limited edition model – the second of only 150 produced worldwide. The serial number is displayed on the crank side of the crossbar.

The mountain bike is a Trek Fuel 100 model, finished in black. It has the following accessories fitted: Rock Shox SID suspension front forks, a Fox rear shock and a Shimano XT groupset gear system and front and rear disc brakes.

These bikes, particularly the road bike, are very distinctive and it would be expected that people would recognise them should an attempt be made to sell them on.
