The rings were stolen from an elderly woman who had been in hospital. She returned home and found the rings missing from her jewellery box.

They include: A diamond solitaire ring with baguette diamond shoulders on a platinum and gold band, worth more than £4,000.

A Victorian single stone ring, wide band scallop bezel and pierced shoulders in 18ct yellow gold hallmark Birmingham 1910, worth £525.

A half hoop gold banded ring alternate ruby and crystal stones, worth £500.
